Entry permalink Pincushion -- Posted by Uncorked

K sent me this link to a cute pattern for a pincushion. It's based on the log-cabin block. I have two new pincushions at the moment, so I don't need one right away, but I've bookmarked this as a possibility for later.

Love the new site! I keep saying that I want to take up sewing and crafting again. Got a sewing machine for Christmas last year, but never got around to even getting it set up. It is almost set up now. If you end up spearheading a sewing circle type of thing, I would love to learn from people much more talented at this stuff than myself (and yes, I apready put you in that category. Your first effort is quite impressive from the pix!!!)

D -- That's so nice! Although, I would more attribute the projects looking nice to my photography skills than my quilting skills. ;-)

Sewing circle idea is intriguing... I've no idea how these things work, though. Everyone brings a machine or some handsewing and a partially-done project? Hmmmmmm... *must ponder* I can count 4-5 people I know who might be interested just off the top of my head.

There are all kinds of sewing circles. You can have the kind where everyone works on their own projects; the kind where everyone works on a joint project (either for a member or for charity); the kind where a technique, style, or pattern is presented each time; or the kind that does round robins or other pass-arounds/swaps. You can even combine some of these areas in your group.
