I'm working on two quilts at once right now. I need to piece together the backing for Rose Petal, and I started cutting the fabric tonight to do that. I love the backing fabric for this one. Pictures later.

I'm also working on the top for Pines. Now that all the blocks for that are done, piecing it together should be pretty straightforward, as the layout is pretty simple (although on-point). Progress, progress. I think I'm going to work on RP for at least a little while every night this week, because I need to get that thing basted and then figure out how I'm going to quilt it.

How do you baste? Do you use a spray (which terrify me with their ingredient lists) or do you machine baste? I'm not even going to ask if you do it by hand -- I'm pretty sure I know the answer to that.

For the small (block-size and wall-hanging-size) quilts that I've done so far, I've just used pins to baste. For Rose Petal, I'm planning to use some specially shaped safety pins to hold the thing together. That is going to be a challenge.
