I was browsing around Jinny Beyer's site the other day. There are some fabulous (and complicated!) designs there and I like almost all of her fabrics. I've started thinking about what things I should put on my Christmas Quilt Wishlist for my husband to consider. Here are a few things I'm going to suggest just from Jinny Beyer's stuff:

• Six Inch Swatch Service -- 10 mailings of 6x6 swatches of 30 different fabrics.
• Portable Palette -- Just to force myself to be a bit more creative with colors.
• September Sun, Horizon, Moonglow, and Snow Birds are all quilt kits available here. -- While I think I will generally prefer to design my own quilts, rather than work from kits or patterns, all of those are just gorgeous and would probably be very inspiring. Horizon and Snow Birds also turn into great color reference quilts to have hanging around my quilt space downstairs.

Jinny does wonderful designs and great color work-of all the monthly mailings I have tried - like your six inch swatch one-the one I stuck with is where I receive six inch sqaures that are one of each fabrics that have come into this lqs...then, if I really like a particular fabric, I can order more at a discount. I have been saving these squares and will do some scrap quilts with them eventually. I used to order fat quareters monthly of certain themes...but discovered fat quarters just aren't enough for me to work with.

oh, local quilt shop...a common short-ism in the quilter's talk :-)

Center Diamond-which has an online shop too, is the one I am currently still getting squares from...they are located over at Cannon Beach and a great shop to go visit.

I received a package of stuff from Hancock's the other day that I had not ordered. Yards and yards of white muslin, king size white batting, and some pretty blue fabric. It was shipped to me, but none of it was stuff I would have ordered. So, I called, and it turns out it was supposed to go to someone in Canada. I was hoping they'd just let me keep it; I could use all that stuff eventually, but they're going to have UPS pick it up in a few days. Oh well.
