Entry permalink Three At Once -- Posted by Uncorked

I'm currently working on the quilts codenamed Burns, Liners, and Edwards in the sidebar. I'm doing three almost identical baby quilts (except for the borders and backing -- which I'm undecided on at the moment) out of the Jinny Beyer fabrics I bought a few weeks ago.

I'm using the simplest possible pattern -- 2x2 rail step blocks -- and they're coming together really quickly with chain piecing. Originally, I was just going to do two, then I dropped it down to one, then I found out about another baby coming this spring, and then I got invited to a baby shower for the one I'd dropped, so we're now at 3. Each quilt will be about 28x28 inches. After the somewhat complicated lapquilts for Christmas, these are a cinch! Pictures soon. Here's the design (with colors that are not really that close to what I'm using -- I just wanted to get the measurements from EQ, so whipped this together quickly.)

Right now, I'm thinking the quilts will be named Baby Steps I, II, and III.

This doesn't make you crazy, it officially makes you a quilter! I don't know anyone who sews who works on one project at a time. Myself, I even have several WIPs:)

hi! i've been (slowly) working on a rail fence myself and yup if i would actually just sit down and work on it it goes amazingly face with the strip/chain piecing!! i'm just too lazy to get the sewing machine out of the closet these days....

p.s. doh! that's meant to be "fast" NOT "face"! what kind of a typo is that??!!

yep, you are not crazy, just a "real" quilter :-)
it actually is very productive to do the same pattern this way...so you go girl. and quilting by following the zig zag pattern the rails make will also go fast and easy. That size will really be quick to do as well. Nice choice of colors!

Entry permalink ATQ Featured in Newsletter -- Posted by Uncorked

All Too Quilty was mentioned in a recent issue of the Crazy Quilt House Newsletter in a short feature about quilting weblogs.

Welcome to any new readers and feel free to chime in on the comment threads! I'm hoping to redesign and overhaul this site sometime in 2004, but the quilting content will continue...
