This past weekend I was in Williamsburg for a business trip and it happened to coincide with the Williamsburg Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival. (I may not have the precise name of the event right.) It was about 3 miles from my hotel, so I decided to stop by. I spent an hour or two on Sunday morning and took a few pictures. I'm posting a few pics in this entry and will probably post a few more from time to time over the next little while.

One of my favorites won a blue ribbon in the "Innovative" category and is called "X-ray du Soleil." It's just stunning. I'm cropping a couple of close-ups below so you can see the level of detail.

Thanks for the pictures! You know how much I love little squares and rectangles, but ... whoa. That's a whole lot of squares. I'm stunned.

When I was at the quilt festival this weekend (pictures later) I saw a demo of a space age ironing board cover. It's made out of material that reflects 95% of the heat aimed toward it, so it will iron both sides of your fabric at once and you only need to set your iron on medium. No risk of scorching. The demo was quite impressive, and if I hadn't just replaced my ironing board cover, I probably would have bought one.
